Anyone with Priority Health? & bmi over 55?
I have Priority Health and at the seminar I went to today, they mentioned a $1000 patient responsibility. They seemed to think this was regardless of what your deductible/coinsurance is and is in fact in addition to that. Anyone know about that??? I am considering using MMPC.
Also anyone with BMI over 55? What was the preauth process with PH like??

Yeah, I have Priority, and my patient responsibility will be $1,000 (I had to pay it to get my surgery date.) It's 50% of the surgeon fees, not to exceed $1,000. Everything after the $1,000 is covered. (Aside from the office visit copays and what not.) I'm not sure how that works if you have secondary insurance? Oh, and in addition, I also paid a $250 program fee.
My BMI is over 60, and Priority waived the 6-month medically supervised diet requirement for me. They approved me very quickly and my surgery is next month!
I hope that helps!

my husband used MMPC.. you HAVE to buy their food.. it can get quite expensive and ins. does NOT pay for it..

I have PH also and am going through MMPC. $1000 like was mentioned above and the average food product price is $365 depending on what you get. I have a flex plan that will cover the $1000 but I will have to pay for the food. I figure it's a small price compared to what others have to pay, especially those whose ins. does not cover any of it. It seems PH is one of the better ones. I have been extremely happy so far.
