Red Robin - What to Order
Tonight is my Son's Birthday Dinner with his friends. He picked Red Robin. I did not find any nutritional information on the web site. So I was thinking of a cup of the Chili and maybe the Chicken Quesadilla appetizer.
Has anyone been there Post op. This place was my down fall pre surgery. I LOVE their french Fries. My Son really wants to go there and was willing to let me pick the place tonight, and I told him that I want him to go where he wants. I will be just fine.
I'd suggest two websites:
Red Robin's Menu
http://www.redrobin.com/arvada-co/home/menu.aspx
Diet Facts Calorie site -- they have a list of 102 Red Robin menu items with nutritional info
http://www.dietfacts.com/list.asp?brand=Red%5FRobin
I've never been to Red Robin, so I'm no help in picking food there. But when I'm heading some place new I always check the menu that's normally posted on their website and compare it to the nutritional label that Diet Facts provides. That way you know what you're going to order before you walk in and won't be as tempted to order something naughty.

RED ROBIN....YUMMMMMMM! I love Red Robin. I'm 2 1/2 years out, so when I go to Red Robin, I get a burger and onion rings (I can't do french fries). I get about three meals out of it. I probably eat at Red Robin, 3 or 4 times a year. So, I enjoy it when I go.
I also like their "top shelf" TNT's (RR's long islands). Shame on me! LOL!
I should add....I can't eat much bread...so when I do get a burger, I can't eat much of it at one time because of the bun, if I eat the bun. Sometimes, I just eat the burger.
The turkey croissant is pretty good, too. I forget what it's called, but it has avacado on it. It's A LOT of food....like most things at RR. I don't know how far out you are, so that will certainly make a difference in what you can/should order.

I agree on the spacing thing. I give up on getting it to look like an intelligent human wrote it.
As for Red Robin - I also order a burger. You can have them do it "protein style" they call it - they wrap it in lettuce instead of a bun and give you a side salad instead of fries. (And if you MUST have a fry, you can nibble one from your son's plate.)
You will get several meals from it. Just eat slowly and don't over do it - that was my downfall at first.
Enjoy!

Thanks everyone. I am proud of how I did on my first restaurant outing since my RNY six weeks ago. I ordered the Chili and ate about half of it and I also ordered the quesadillas and I only ate two bites of that. All in all it was good to get out and change up the routine but I am don’t thing I will venture out again for a while.
Ooo, I too loved Red Robin pre-surgery! I was always wanting to go there and everyone else got sick of it because we went so much. LOL
Anyway, I have been 2 or 3 times since surgery. I always get the chicken quesadilla appetizer. I eat about three of the pieces and take the rest home. I've been too chicken to get burger!
Hope you have fun tonight!
