MMPC INTERNIST
Hi!
Hope I'm not too late.
Just a very basic, heart, lungs, EKG, BP, pulse, belly prod, ankle check, history, questions about WLS and a recommendation to see the surgeon.
Simple---Oh--and of course they weigh you, check your height and do a Tanita body scale analysis.
Hope this helps--enjoy--It's the start of a great journey.
Laura
I would take your list of questions and ask them all. Dr. White will answer what she can and direct you to the surgeon for the rest. This will be good for you-to leave with some answers and it will allow you more time to get to know the surgeon at that visit.
This is exciting!! Have a great time with it!!!
Ok I saw Karen Gawel yesterday. You are right they just do the weight, height, blood pressure. I had already given them information from my doctor but my ekg was over a year ago so they did another one. She asked me which surgery I was interested in. Seems like my insurance will only pay for the sleeve if your bmi is over 50. But since I have had several resections of small intestines and colon Dr. Foote might be able to get an exception. I see dr. Foote tomorrow to discuss the options available to me. Will be taking my list of questions with me at that time. I did get an order for lab work which I did this morning. 8 vials of my precious blood. That was not fun.
Saw Dr. Foote today after the behavorist. After he read my reports on the surgeries involving the resections he agreed that the only surgery I could have is the sleeve. That is the one that I want. He doesn't think he needs to get an exception from BC. No preauthorization needed. They just need my lab results and they will be contacting me about surgery. He did say his schedule is busy until the middle of next month. Darn I wanted to have on my birthday, 2-27. But guess I will just have another birthday in March. lol. I am just floating now and cant wait to buy smaller clothes and shoes.
