Policy change; begins roller coaster ride...

Oh my, BC/BS makes a change and rocks my world! Saw my surgeon and staff yesterday, scheduled the RNY for Monday 2/4, saw my pcp today, ekg was awesome, he cleared me for surgery, psych eval next week... my head is spinning I hope the psychologist doesn't think I am a nut job, I am so EXCITED and TERRIFIED. Whoops, as I type this I am struggling to get endoscopy in time for surgery date... fingers crossed friends! Keke

That is exciting!  Congrats to you, it is going to happen now!  Wish you the best . I am so glad BCBS changed their policy, I will be riding the same ride soon.  :)  Patti

BC/BS PPO SOM didn't change their policy.  I called yesterday and still have to complete the 12 months of supervised dieting. 

I'm sorry, you may be right. I keep thinking BC/BS but there are so many divisions... I think I heard BCN and BC/BS PPO (community blue) specifically... Good luck to you! Keke

I also have BCBS PPO SOM...   oh well... I have 5 months down... 7 more to go...

I would keep checking with your customer service department.  Sometimes information like that is slow to filter through the system.
