Man.... this snow blast!!
I think we got a total of 6 inches on top of the 3 we already had. It's pretty.
I remember living in KY years ago, and had this happened there, EVERYTHING would shut down. Life as you knew it, was staying inside and there was NOTHING open. Still to this day,. just a mere sprinkles of the white stuff shuts KY down. They dont' know what a salt truck is.
Over in Zeeland, that's the infamous WEST MICHIGAN SNOW MACHINE AKA LAKE EFFECT SNOW MACHINE so you are gonna get blasted there- having lived in Allegan for a number of years and working and commuting to Holland MI - I know that snow belt well! Allegan would get blasted yet over in Holland, there was nothing.
We are lucky here where I live. The roads were plowed promptly and the salt was put on the roads, and when I got out of work it was a clean walk to my buried up to the running boards truck.
One thing to remember- We live in Michigan, the state where, the weather changes every 15 minutes!!!!
Be safe and enjoy the white stuff from the comforts of your warm and cozy home filled with Holiday Cheer!
Happy Holidays to ALL -- here's what you can make with that fresh white stuff:
This is a favorite from my childhood--back when it only snowed every 5 or 10 years in Huntsville. Mother would treat us to "Snow Cream." Now, some people think this is unsanitary but if you're adventuresome, give it a try. It's a winter treat that doesn't happen often in the South and tastes better than ice cream.

INGREDIENTS:
- 1-3 C. snow (make sure it's clean!)
- 1/2 C. whipping cream or other cream of choice
- 1 T. sugar (can probably use splenda)
- 2-3 drops vanilla flavoring
PREPARATION:
In a separate bowl, mix cream, sugar and vanilla. Slowly add snow to desired consistency. Eat (slowly--it's cold) and enjoy! All ingredients can be adjusted to suit your particular preferences.
You might want to try some other flavorings: cinnamon, butterscotch, almond, or eggnog mix.
