I live for this weather!!  I love the snow.  I can handle the cold as long as there is snow. I've been out shoveling and snow blowing twice already and it looks to be about 8 inches here in Lansing.  We have to drive south today to Jackson to be with my dad who just had hip replacement surgery.  It will be the first time both of his kids and my step mom's kids have ever been together for a holiday, so we have to go. Hope everyone gets to stay nice and warm!

I like snow to play in but NOT to drive in. Yes I have 4 wheel drive, but most of the time they scrape the roads so low it turns into just ice and I dont like driving in that.  Snow covered is okay.. ANyways we have about 10 inches and I'm thinking I should go and shovel the deck off and a path to my truck and wipe it off so I wont have 20 inches tomorrow when I go to work.  My dad comes over and plows my driveway so I really only need to shovel my deck.. Love having my daddy retired!

LOL sounds like most of us we're hit with it then. I agree I love too look at it, all puffy and hanging on the tree's BUT I don't like driving in it either *ewwwww* I remember last year don't remember the date but it was our big Blizzard of 2006 and OMG it was on a Sat. I remember that because I had to go into work for 4 stinken hours and when I left work?  I only have to drive like 6 miles to get home well those 6 miles took me *over 45 minutes* to get home.  It was a Blizzard out here I couldn't even see the front end of my blazer.  I think for 1 strange moment I almost pee'd myself LOL Hoping I don't have to drive in that again this year!!  I'm liking the hot cocoa idea with marshmellows MMMMMM. My beagles love this stuff too.  Stay warm everyone.......... Happy Holiday's

I live in Chelsea.  We have at least 10-12 inches, easy.  It's still coming down, but very light.  I commute 100 miles a day for work, but I'm a teacher, so maybe we'll have a snow day tomorrow.

Looks like you got your wish!  Our kids in Wayne-Westland get the day off tomorrow.  Now if my work would only give me the day off.......

I have no idea.  Short of measuring it with a ruler, how do we find out?  i've been looking and can find forecasts but not a measure of how much has fallen.  I'm kind of psyched because i just bought my first truck ever and it has 4 wheel drive.  When we ran out of coffee this afternoon i jumped at the chance to go out driving in the snow lol.

Well, according to the news, the "official" snowfall is measured at Metro Airport (for that local area, I assume) and it was 9 inches, an inch short of some old record from the 1900's and about 15 inches short of a record set in the 1860's.  They said 10 inches for Ann Arbor.  I'm about 20 miles west of Ann Arbor (just a couple miles from the Jackson County line).  We easily got 12 inches.  It was easy to measure as we took a center swipe down our driveway with the snow blower or from the bottom of the skimmer on the pool to the top of the pool and plus several inches above that.  My sister lives in Wixom and they were out shopping yesterday saying they got maybe 6 inches.  So it varied widely.  But I think we all knew that anyway...LOL!

Here in Kazoo, we have about 6-7 inches. The afternoon sure was beautiful after the sun came out.  Keep praying for a decent snowshoe/x-ski season! Deb
