TOTALLY DEPRESSED

FIRST , HELLO EVERYONE !! LAST TUESDAY 12/4 I HAD SOME KIND OF BLACKOUT/ SEIZURE. NO I WASN'T DRIVING, MY GIRLFRIEND WAS AND SHE TOOK ME STRAIGHT TO THE HOSPITAL, 2 DAYS AND TESTS LATER NO REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN !! ALL I REMEMBER IS THAT I FELT/HEARD A LOUND ROARING SOUND AND THEN I WAS SWEATING MY GIRLFREIND SAID I WAS JERKING AND MY HEAD AND EYES WERE ROLLED BACK. BAD THING IS THAT THE DRS TOLD ME BECAUSE I HAD SOME TYPE OF SEIZURE I CAN NOT DRIVE ANY TYPE OF MOTOR VEHICLE FOR 6 MONTHS !! THIS IS MY JOB !! MY INCOME ! I AM GOING TO SEE A NEUROLOGIST MONDAY AND SEE WHAT HE SAYS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I AM ALSO SCHEDULED FOR GALLBLADER SURGERY 12/19 AT HARPER. I CHECKED WITH SOC SECURITY AND THEY TOLD ME MY DISABILITY HAS TO LAST 1 YEAR IN ORDER TO COLLECT SOC SEC DISABILITY. THE HOSPITAL DID NOT PUT ME ON ANY ANTI SEIZURE MEDS.  I AM BESIDE MYSELF, I DON'T KNOW YET IF MY WORK DISABILITY INSURANCE COMPANY WILL GIVE ME A HARD TIME YET, I HAVE TO HAVE THE NEUROLOGIST COVER ME FOR THE PAPERWORK. I AM READY TO THROW IN THE TOWEL, MY JOB IS UNSTABLE AS IT IS WITH GM GOING TO ONE SHIFT IN JAN AND RYDER HAS TO READJUST THE ROUTES, MIGHT BE ON LAYOFF STATUS ,THEN I WILL NOT HAVE MEDICAL INSURANCE. WELL THATS ABOUT IT FOR NOW.

Oh no- I hope the neurologist finds out what happened..that is scary!! Luckily you werent driving!! I will be praying for you and hoe all works out....thinking of you... Shannon

((((((((((HUGS to You)))))))) I am sorry you are going through all this.... Good Luck with your gallbladder surgery. I am sure all will go fine with that... I hope everything else works out for you... Keep us posted on how it all goes.... You don't want to mess around if you are blacking out.. you shouldn't be driving, at least wait until you see the neurologist and see what he has to say.... best of luck to you... HUGS,

Did they check your sugar? Reason I ask is becasue I had something very similar happen to me BUT I WAS DRIVING. It was on one of my many trips to visit family in Illinois. I was eating lots of refined sugary candy and realized that was the casue but let ,me tell you I was scared to death when it happened as I was driving over the limit (hope no police officers are reading this) and before I totally blacked out I tried to slow down and pull over. By the time I went through those motions the near black out ended. It happened again almost the same way about 6 months later (Short memeory I guess) and again (I know STUPID) I was eating some mega doses of candy. Since then I no longer am abusing myself by doing that.  I am absolutley sure it was sugar related in my case. So that is why I asked..

I had the same thing happen to me six years ago.  I went to the grocery story, remember looking at a can of peaches and thinking it looked just like a loaf of bread.  The next memory was being in the emergency room.  According to the store employee who found me, I was having a full-blown grand mal seizure.  I was put on seizure medication for a year.  They ran all kinds of tests, never found anything.  It it makes you feel better, the neurologist told me 80% of people who have a seizure have it just one time, never happens again.   Good luck! thx everyone for your input. the dr i am seeing monday is a different neurologist than i saw in hospital. the hospital dr was new and not that experienced. the dr i am seeing monday is my sleep /neurologist specialist. i requested him in the hospital but they sent the newbie. my blood sugar was ok so they tell me. wish me luck! if anyone can think of anything else i can try let me know. thx

Well I had a similar thing happen to me when I had 3 gallstones this was a year before WLS. But I did not have seizures I had the blackout with sweating..... Maybe you passed a stone or had a stone move. Well Good luck with everything. I will be thinking about you
