i have a filter question....
well im not crazy lol
seen Dr. Glass (MMPC) yesterday---he says im good to go--yay
also saw Dr. Baker and he explained to me id have to have a filter placed to catch any clots....
anyone else have/had these?...
doc also said he will most likely be able to do it by lap and not open (*wheeeeew*!!!!!!!)
biggest pain in the butt ??????? he's gonna make me do the diet for 3 weeks and not 2...
lol but thats ok...i dont care...
now its waiting time from the insurance.....
I had a greenfield filter placed right before my surgery. I have a family history of blood clots and on a blood test I was Protein C deficient. The procedure was fairly simple-they give u some meds where u are awake but don't feel anything (versaid) and they went thru my groin to place it.
I still have it- never removed it. I feel safe with it in me...as I just had a tummy tuck.
Best wishes

Hi, I had a grenfield filter put in a week before my surgery. They went through my neck. I was scared but I didn't feel a thing. Nothing!!! It is just incase of blood clots to catch them till they dissolve from what I understand so they can't get into your lungs etc. if you google greenfield filter you can see more info on it. And they dont remove it but it's m.r.i. safe and thats good for me because I have one once a year. Hope this helped
I have a filter... I was worried before I had mine as well, but I did fine and all is still well with it... I don't have a clue it is there.... I carry a card with my driver's license, so that in an emergency those that need to know, know it is there... but I am sure the doctors would not want you to have one if they didn't feel you needed one.. best of luck to you.....
