Does anyone know about how long it takes, at the current time, from your consult with the surgeon until surgery? I know it depends on ins. just looking for an average. Thanks, Laura

hi... I had my first WL Seminar on July 2nd and my surgery on October three.  Do the math and it was only 3 months!!  :O)  I could not believe it went so quickly....  My insurance approval took 2 days.  I was amazed!! From the first time I had my counciltation with Dr Foote, on August 2nd, and again surgery on October three.  I love my RNY!!! Jodi :O)

I had orientation with Dr. Kemmeter in late April, then my first visit in late May and surgery on 8-17. I think 3 months is kind of average. I just love Dr. K. - he's just the best!

It took a little over 5 months to get my approval from the insurance company.  Don't be perturbed if it takes longer as all insurances are different.  Dr. K is the best!  You are in good hands.

Hi Laura I went to the seminar in late March, saw Dr Kemmeter in late April, my insurance packet was submitted in June.  I had to appeal my insurance twice (because of the VSG-"experimental...") and finally got approval October 15th. (I could have had approval for lapband or RNY right away.)   I am scheduled for my VSG on Nov. 29th.  I think they are running a bit longer now because Dr Kemmeter is going to be gone Thanksgiving week (or at least part of it) Martha

Hi Laura, I had my consult with Dr Foote and 1st psych eval 9/20/07. Second psych eval 9/24 and an EGD 10/15. Insurance packet went in 10/26 and I was approved by priority 11/6/07.  I was called this past Tues by a scheduler and I will have RNY 12/4/07.  A little over 3 mos despite the insurance company. Good Luck!! Cathi

Smile.....Everyone will wonder what you have been up to!!
