Hi guys, I'm having some wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow and was wondering what kind of pain meds. I should request. I know we can't take motrin, ibuprophin, etc. but is there anything else I should watch out for? Of course I'll discuss with the dentist, but I want to go in sounding like I know what I'm doing. Thanks!

I take Tramadol/Ultram which works for me but doesn't have tylenol in it- because I can't take tylenol products.  (due to high AST levels). I would also determine if you need just pain relief or a narcotic like vicodin or perhaps tylenol 3 with codeine to help you rest. Good luck tomorrow and do keep us posted on how you do! hugs chicklet!   Stacey

I usually ask for Lortab... I did get percocet when I had the tuck but that was for extreme pain. Lortab works wonders... Just ask Paul. ROFL

Loritabs and Vicodin are swell but I quarter the pills and take them at 1,2 4 and 6th hours. Otherwise they hit me hard and go away in an hour. Jon likes Hot Damn and MGD. kp

Well, I made it through 3 wisdom teeth and part of a damaged molar being extracted.  Ouch. They gave me Vicodin, which is working well.  Thanks for tip on splitting them up, K Phed, that worked out well too. The good thing is.....I can't eat anything but yogurt!  Yipee!
