I need a new PCP

I went to the doctor today because I wanted to go ver some of the stuff that I needed in order to have the surgery. She was so rude she almost brought me to tears. She knows I've been dieting and using weigh****chers online for almost 16 months. she was so not supportive and i don't know what to do. Do I switch pcps and start over or do i stick with her and hope it gets better? I even told her how she was making me feel. The lady who was in the room next door had the same experience. Ahhhh Help!

I'm thinking long term here - but one of the most important things you'll need after wls is a good supportive pcp. I say fire that lady and go find one who is willing to earn her fee by working FOR you and not against you!!!!  Best of wishes to you

I am so sorry for your doctor's ignorance. My first doctor was like that. I ended up going to a new doctor in southfield. He is a dream come true. He has supported me all the way thru. I was reccomended to him from another bariatric patient of his who was a friend of the family. She is doing good. I say look for a new pcp. Just request your records from your current pcp to a new one and start fresh.

All of my medical stuff is handled by U of M docs (including my RNY) and I'm totally happy with all of them.  I haven't met anyone I didn't like yet.  Their office staff aint bad either
