MMPC patients--advise??
Hi: I was on this three years ago when they first introduced it ... didn't have the premixed shakes back then. I liked the chili and spaghetti ... I figured if I only have to do this for two weeks, I can handle it. I added extra italian seasoning to the spaghetti to make it a little better. Never tried the oatmeal because I don't like oatmeal at all. Or the fruit drinks, not a big fan of those. Like most of the bars. Used the unmixed shakes and made some palatable drinks using sugar-free syrups (like DaVinci or Torani or mixing them with SF pop in a blender). Also, the cappucino isn't bad; you can mix in a blender with ice and some sf syrups. The bars are pretty good for the pre-op diet also.
As for the soups, I didn't mind the cream of tomato soup or the cream of chicken; actually didn't mind the chicken noodle either. Post-op, you really aren't going to be very hungry; they want you to consume four of these a day, and it's going to be very difficult, let me tell you. You have to drink these so slowly and they're cold before you can get them down. I'm sure it's going to be difficult to go through this at Thanksgiving; I can't imagine having to do that during the holidays. I was fortunate to do it in the summer, and I live alone so there was no one depending on me to cook for them. If you can't tolerate the Bariatrix at all (but you're paying for it, remember), you could try other protein drinks or make your own with SF Instant Breakfast and add something like Any Whey (which is a tasteless protein). But I'd check with MMPC folks first.
Good luck to you ... just keep this in mind, it's only four weeks (two weeks pre-op, two weeks post-op) that you have to stomach this. I did it (actually, I did it again on some of the product to break a stall a couple of years ago too). You can do this!
