I had my yearly bloodwork done and it was very good for the most part, except my Vitamin D had dropped 50% from last year!! I have Calcium Citrate with Vitamin D, but I don't think I will be getting enough,  Can anyone make a suggestion as to what I might take?  Even with my adult chewable, I would be getting anywhere near 100%.

My doctor referred me to a specialist. I'm seeing Dr. Amy Tobin, an Endrocrinolgist in Sterling Heights.  She has me on a perscription Vitamin D, and I take 1200 mg. of calcium with 800 IU Vitamin D3 daily.  They check my blood every three months. You can get too much Vitamin D.  Good luck.

Actually, Dracula took too much Vitamin D out of me.  It dropped 50% since last year, so I need to get some in me, as I don't want to get rickets or anything else!!

Rhonda, I have the same problem and have been battling it for over a year now.  I take Calcium Citrate with Vitamin D every day and a prescription Vitamin D 50,000 units twice a week.  I started with 50,000 units once a week and my levels went up about ten points not normal but better.  Then  after three months they dropped again.  So I went to 50,000 units twice a week.  I see the doctor in November to see where my levels are and I hope they have gone up or at least stayed steady.  A low Vitamin D level can cause a lot of health problems so please make sure your doctor is doing everything to get your levels back up.  Take care, Fran

Well, I got a surprise today when I got a note from my surgeron, complete with a prescription for Drisdol, 50,000 units!!  I think it's once a week.  How often do I need to check my levels once I start this?  One time I was told I had too much calcium in me!!!
