Surgery Blues :O(
I agree with KP you need to calm down.
We all got the nerve thing the first couple of weeks out. It is our mind playing tricks on us. You are sitting in the house with nothing to do. If you cannot walk then try to exercise in other ways, the pool is a good idea. You can also have hand weights, use the small ones as you si****ching tv or lift a couple of cans of soup. Anything to keep yourself moving. There is always ways around it. My MIL has had her knees done 3 times and everytime it has been difficult for her because of her weight being to much. Focus on your diet and things will change for you. I know it is early but think of things this way, the weight did not come on all of a sudden and it is not going to come off that fast. You still have to work at this. You have been giving a tool. Please use it wisely.
Keep your chin up. We are all here for you.

Jodi,
Don't worry about not exercising yet. I have a very good friend who had bariatric surgery and could not exercise due to needing hip replacement and knee replacement. Doctors would do neither until she lost weight. Her entire first year post op, she couldn't exercise and she still lost 150 pounds. She had her hip and knee replacements done and is doing awesome at her 2 year anniversary. You WILL lose weight.
Please talk to your surgeon before going in the pool. I know that you aren't allowed in unless your lap sites are totally healed. Once they are, you are golden to get in the pool.
As far as food at 2 weeks goes, the only thing I remember that you didn't mention is Reduced Fat Wheat Thins. I think I could eat two at first.
Just keep trying to sip the water. It will come in time. Dr. Kemmeter told me that at 2 week out, it is impossible to screw up this surgery.
You are a tough cookie and you are doing a great job! In a couple of weeks, you will look back and hardly remember this time.

I have not been banded yet, but I have been having knee pains for over two years. Or I had pain because one day it just went away. I was given a pill called celebrex. I haven't been working so I could not get any more. I took pain pills sometimes, soaked the knee, make sure you wrap your knee ( help the pain) and soak. I have not lost any weight I gain. But I have not had any pain in two months or so it just healed.
Jenn.. I always appreciate your responces. You have been here for me since the beginning. Never a mean thing to say to me. Always encourging and up lifting. I was just freaking out for about 5 minutes, then got quickly over it. Doing better today because I feel better. Slept a long time and woke up a new woman. Well almost a new woman...
I will be talking to Dr Foote about the swimming thing. I think this is what I need to heal my knee. It will be like a therapy...
Thanks again Jenn!!!
Jodi,
I'm with Kevin, Suzanne and everyone else.
Relax... I was in the same boat you are last summer. I couldn't walk far, ended up in the ER with knee pain, went so far as to see a surgeon about getting a knee replaced.
I spent a lot of time in the complex pool last summer, and lots of time doing water aerobics. I couldn't walk the 2 miles that they wanted me too. Although just from the parking deck into work is a long way. In Sept 2006 I went as far a seeing an ortho about getting the knee replaced, but settled for a cortizone injection instead.
Yesterday I did a cemetery walk of 2.5 miles. I find myself standing alot at work and suddenly noticing that I've been standing for an hour or more. . Couldn't do that before.
It takes time but it will come off, you'll be feeling better.
