How long do plateau's last
I've always heard that a plateau isn't really a plateau until it lasts for 3 weeks. If after 3 weeks you don't have any change in weight then you need to try something different --- like adding more exercise or changing your workout routine or re-exaimining your eating habits.
Like KP said, don't weigh every day. Pick 1 day per week and weigh at the same time every week. Also keep track of your measurements and body fat percentage (if you've got a scale that'll do that). You could be losing inches and gaining muscle, which could make you just THINK you're at a plateau when you really aren't.
Good luck

The scale can measure the weight of my body but never my worth as a woman. ~Lysa TerKeurst author of Made to Crave
I have been stuck at just over 200 lbs for two weeks now, hoping my plateau will end... just need to drink more and get in some exercise. I have no doubt that at 5 weeks that scale will budge. And I confess that I still weigh myself every morning. In the beginning when I was losing so much so fast it was so exciting to get out of bed every morning to weigh myself - like a kid at Christmas! It will move, I promise - in the mean time have more water, water, water!
