Tidbit of info on RLS...
Hi guys,
Just want to pass along some info. I've had RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) terribly for about a year. My iron levels have always been a little low, but not dangerously low, so I wasn't taking an extra supplement for iron...just my regular vits. Well, after reading and asking questions, it was pretty evident that low iron can cause RLS symptoms. I ordered some iron suppliments that are good for WLS patients, and bam! The symptoms have almost completely faded. Plus I'm not nearly as tired as I was. Maybe once every couple of weeks I have a restless night, but mostly it's disappeared. So, to make a long story short, if you are having trouble with RLS, get your iron checked and if needed, take the suppliments! Hugs, Theresa
Theresa...thank you for this. I've spent the last 4 nights not sleeping because I've had what I call RBS (Restless BODY Syndrome). My NUT did say my iron levels were a TAD low, and that I should supplement. I bought some and took them for a bit, but I've been lax for about a week or so. I'm going to take them and see what happens. It sure makes sense now. Thanks again.

I hate the symptoms from RLS or "RBS"....drives you crazy. But the iron definately's been helping. Here's what I take, in case you want to know. It's specifically for WLS patients. I got it online and it was very inexpensive, but I can't remember exactly the price. I know it was under $20 for 90 days worth. Here's the website: www.bbvitamins.com The brand is called "Building Blocks" Essential Bariatric Supplement. Iron - 30 mg. 30 in a bottle, received 3 bottles in the order. I take one a day. Remember not to take iron within two hours of Vitamin C because it causes it to not absorb correctly. Best of luck! Theresa
I got the "Jimmy" legs about two weeks ago after I took some cough medicine. I woke up in the middle of the night and I swear I couldn't keep still. They actually ached. I don't believe it had anything to do with the surgery but more of some type of reaction.
It was tough because it wouldn't stop. Phenegren I believe was the culprit.
Damn "Jimmy" legs.

I have that that same issue with my legs. I also suffer from low iron levels and my legs hurt on a constant basis and I started taking hemaplex a iron supplement and it have help me alot with my levels and legs. I have to watch it all the time or I have problems walking and running. Thanks for the information Hugs Tricia
This is interesting...I have had a BIG problem with RLS for many years. I know its not from the WLS because I have not had that yet. I have been taken requip ever since it came out and it is a miracle drug for me. I have it every night. I have never had my iron checked, but don't feel tired or anything.
thanks for the info.
