QUESTION.. HAS ANY ONE USED DR VANDERKOL OR DR BAKER FROM GRAND RAPIDS...

Has anyone used Dr Baker or Dr Vanderkol both from Grand Rapids Michigan???

Howdy.. Dr Baker, Dr Foote, and Dr Kemmeter from MMPC are pretty popular on here.  MMPC is an awesome facility IMHO! Jodi :O)

Dr. Baker was on the top of my list of surgeon, except that I'd have to drive to GR way too much for the 3 mth diet plan my insurance wanted. But I've heard nothing but good things about MMPC, they're very popular here. 

I had Dr. Baker.  Very nice guy.  All of them from MMPC are good doctors.  You also need to look at the staff.  I only saw Dr. Baker for my surgery and have dealt only with the staff after that - nutritionist, exercise guy, PA's and interns.    No complaints from me on any of the MMPC staff.

I'm another positive testimony for MMPC.  They were wonderful!

My sister, who is an RN at Spectrum and works in ICU says Dr. Baker is top notch. She wanted me to go to him, but I am in love with my doc in Kalamazoo! deb

I HAD DR. BAKER AS HE WAS PICKED OUT FOR  ME BY MY ANNEURYSM SPECIALIST. HE SAID THAT I HAD TO HAVE THE BEST DOCTOR THEY COULD GET ME AND DR. BAKER WAS THE ONE. I AGREE WITH IT AS HE DID AN EXCELLANT JOB. HE IS A VERY NICE DOCTOR.

I also had Dr. Baker and recommend MMPC.  MMPC is a Center of Excellence and they have a lot of experience doing the procedure laproscopically and with more difficult cases.  It has been a positive experience for me and they have several support groups in the area.  I believe this is also a key to your progress post operatively.  I would contact the group and see if there is one in the Benton Harbor area.

ALL of the doctors there are great BUT the only BAD thing about MMPC is the FOOD you HAVE to buy from them . It is NASTY ( well most of it is) and it is NOT cheap by no means..     Pam

Add me to the list of MMPC supporters!  They're wonderful people! I had Dr. Baker and he was amazing.  My parents met him pre-op and spoke with him after he came out from surgery to tell everyone I was okay, and they liked him immensely.  Just before they knocked me out I asked him if he ever spoke to his patients during the operation and he said no, but when I asked if he would talk to me and tell me positive things (ie, you're going to do well, you're going to be healthy, heal quickly, et al) he said he would.  I asked him afterwards if he did this and he said yes.  Well, he must've done it because I am doing great!  :) -Tam
