Does anyone know how I can make the food from MMPC taste any better. I am on my first day, and feel like I am going to get sick.  I think that I will be living on jello for two weeks..... Any advise would be so helpful. The brocaflower cream is burping up and I can't deal with the taste. I don't think that I will eat that again.

Aimee, I wish I could tell you that there was a way to make the food taste better, but I never found one.  After 4 days, you won't even care if you eat.  Hopefully you did get some things you like.  I liked the premixed chocolate drinks, but not the ones you mix yourself, go figure.  Have you tried the spaghetti or the chili?  I liked both. I had to keep reminding myself that the liquid diet would be the last diet I ever did and that it would all be worth it in the end.  Looking back, the liquid diet was the best thing that I did when prepping for surgery.  It allows you to ease yourself into what life will be like after surgery. Best of luck to you. Jenn

I know exactly what you are going through....I went through the medical program prior to wls and had to be on it for 12 weeks!! Can you even imagine??? I would rather not eat than eat that stuff!!  The products are better if you cook on the stove as opposed to in the microwave. You can mix tomato soup in the chili (the chili can be a bit spicy)...I didn't think the spaghetti was too bad (at least you could chew)...all the soups are nasty. And I agree that the premade drinks are better than the ones you mix yourself. Personally, I lived on the yogurt crunch bars, the juice drinks and jell-o. Hope that helps. Looks like we have the same surgeon...when's your surgery?

My surgery is on the 23rd. I am  really excited about it so I will do whatever it takes to get me there.  I ordered an aray of foods, so far I can only hack the ready to drink shakes. Like you said, I will too live on jello, juice, and bars. So far this is what I can tolerate. I did go to the store and bought some fat free, low sodium chicken broth. I just hope that it is alright to have. It is only 10 calories per serving, so it should be. The tomato soup......they forgot to give it to me...go figure. Anyway, one day down, only 13 to go...WAHOOO!

Each day will get better! Word of caution....you may not want to do the Chicken Broth--they get pretty "militant" when talking about the product. I couldn't tolerate the product and was allowed to have Carnation Instant Breakfast (NSA). I drank this for the 2 week pre/post op. When I was in my pre-surgery NUT meeting, others wanted to do the same thing and it became an issue but the NUT said that she did not mind if they alternated one day with the mmpc product and the other with Carnation. However, this is ALL they would allow. I would check with them before eating other things...

Good luck on your upcoming surgery. Keep us posted on how things are going!

This it TOO freaking funny.  I am only 3 or 4 weeks ahead of you...THey are all bad.  I could not gut the spaghetti, chili, tomato soup.  Oatmeal was okay when I added splenda.  The bars were the BOMB!!  I will be ordering them for way after surgery just to have.  The chocolate pudding was not tolerable either, umm...what else Jello was ediable, premade chocolate and vanilla's were great, the fruit drinks were good.  I tried some mrs dash, and some salt and STILL could not eat the spaghetti and chili.. so the second week, i did NOT get in 10 points.. I barely got in 5, but still managed to lose 23 pounds.  Yah i lost that from STARVING myself.   About the FF broth you bought.  The nut AND Todd told us we were NOT allowed to eat anyting other than the packages and water and other drinks.  Reason being.. the food that is in the packages break down your stool so you do not have to have the "cleaning" before your surgery.  And believe me.. 3 days prior to surgery...I was TOTALY empty!!! I guess to make sure, call the Nut to see if the FF broth is okay.  I chose to stick to it, besids the points the second week.  After the 4th day, you will feel noting.  You will have to remind yourself to "drink" your stuff.  I was amazed... this is coming from a big eater!   Sorry I was really no help, just the spices..oh the cream of muchroom soup was okay with a little salt... It will all get better.  Keep plugging along! After surgery I think it is worse.  I am 6 days out and cannot get in all my fluids, and barely get in my protein.  But I'm doing my best... okay good luck... Jodi

I wish MMPC would change where they order their supplies.  The food they get tastes horrible compared to the food that Bariatric Choice has.  It's the same concept and high protein but the BC tastes much better.  I gave my group a pudding pie made with the the pudding mix and they loved the taste.  It's not gritty, not too sweet and tasted great.  I will be ordering some just to take with me on the drive to Arizona so I make sure I have all my protein in.  www.bariatricchoice.com

Is yours that bad too? I haven't had that much of an appetite for the past two days, so it hasn't been that bad. I have been eating jello, sf popcicles, and lots of sf juices. I hopped on the scale yesturday, and it said that I lost 5 lbs so far......so we will see.
