I'm HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yippeeee!!! I am home. I got home around 1:30 today. All went well thanks to my angel Stacey for posting updates on the board for me.
Yes almost 5 pounds of skin taken off!! I cannot believe it. My tummy is so flat now. It is amazing to me to not see that little pouch of skin hanging there. I love it. So far I do not have that much pain although the meds I was given have done wonders so far. They gave me percocet. And told me to walk at least once an hour. I have a ton of staples on my horizontal cut and glue along my vertical cut. I was able to have my own belly button which is what I wanted. I have two JP drains and a pain pump installed. The pain pump should be emptied by this weekend and I can pull it out then.
I have on ace bandages and a binder. I am to use these for at least 6 weeks and then I can get a compression suit to wear. So far so good. I am sore but like I said hanging in there. I did alot of walking today with getting out of the hospital and arriving home.
I want to thank the following people for sending me e-greetings. Linda Ton, Debbie Miers, Shannon D, Jay, Mel, Jeanne and Stacey. It was so cool to have the volunteer come into my room with a big smile and said here is your stack of greetings. It definately brought a smile to my face.
A special thank you to Brenda for coming to the hospital last night to sit with me and bringing me flowers. You are so thoughtful and caring. I appreciated that so much. I am glad to know that you thought I looked good even though I felt so grubby LOL
And to Stacey I cannot thank you enough for posting on the board about my surgery, and answering questions that my DH had.
I will keep everyone posted with my progress.
