HI DEBBIE, I JUST HAD MY RNY ON 09/20/2007 BY DR WOOD AT HARPER HOSPITAL.   I HAD 3 CONSULTS AT OTHER CENTERS AND DR WOODS BY FAR WAS THE BEST.  HIS EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND PROFESSIONALISM BLOWS THE OTHERS OUT OF THE WATER.  IT IS TRULY THE BEST THING I HAVE EVERY DONE FOR MYSELF, AND I BELIEVE I WILL FINALLY BE SUCCESSFUL IN MY BATTLE AGAINST MY OBESITY.  MY ONLY REGRET IS I SHOULD HAD DONE THIS YEARS AGO!!!!! I also had my surgery done by Dr. M. Wood, Oct, 2006.  I think he's awsome.   No problems with DMC Harper, the staff was great.  You couldn't be in better hands. Good Luck, Kathy A.

Hi Debbie! I was just scrolling through the MI board and saw your post.  Let me just say, you must choose Dr. Wood!  He really is fantastic, very caring and very professional.  He has alot of experience and that is what really counts.  I had Lap RNY 12/18/06 (just over 9 months ago) and I have lost 144 pounds - it really has been a great experience.  I started my WLS process with a surgeon from the Beaumont Weight Loss Center but switched to Dr. Wood (then CORI center) because of my insurance.  The Doctor at Beaumont had much less experience and it made me nervous, then I met Dr. Wood and knew that I was in good hands, it really was a sense of relief.  His staff, especially the ones who help you get approved, are really really great.  The hospital stay was a breeze, excellent staff and experience, and Dr. Wood will check on you over and over and over again.  My scars are tiny, tiny and look really good.  I never had any complications with the surgery either.  I sometimes attend support groups at the Center but prefer the after care program at Beaumont - the groups have more of a focus on education not just round table discussion, and they have cooking/eating classes too - this is just personal preference.  I did alot of research before surgery and was looking for professionals to give me more than just the basics.  Anyway, Darci the nutritionist at Dr. Wood's office is very knowledgeable and professional too, and she always calls you back on the same day - I appreciate that!  I know I am giving you alot of info but you have a big decision to make.... just let me know if you want any more info.   Thanks, Rebecca
