I was sent back without any restrictions, however, I work in a semi-office setting. Obviously, I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize the pouch, etc. Basically, you can pretty much do anything you think you're up to doing (within reason) after surgery.

The ready made chocolate drinks were great.  I didn't like the pudding the packets made so I used it as a ready to drink and it was ok (put it in a blender for a bit with ice and make a shake).  Stay away from the Cream of Chicken Soup, it's horrible.  I went online and bought some cream of broccoli soup and it was a very nice change from the other soups.  I did mostly shakes because I bought too much cream of chicken soup and just couldn't stomach it.

Jodi, I'm so excited for you!!  I can imagine how you must be feeling. About the catheter, I was petrified about it too.  It won't be inserted until you are out.  It does not hurt when it comes out.  Maybe a little pressure, but that's it.  I believe the private rooms are for people who live more than an hour away so that they can have a support person stay.  Both my husband and I had one (the same room in fact, 2 months apart).  You need to call the hospital bariatric unit and ask them about the private room.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  I'd be glad to give you my phone number  . Best of luck to you! Jenn

All the rooms on the Bariatric Floor our Private at Blogett except for the two across from the nurses station.   So I would not worry about having to share a room they hardly use them only if the floor is full.  Tricia
