LAP BAND AND HERNIA SURGERY, IS IT OKAY?

Hi everyone.  I am new.  I am seeing Dr. Nunn at Harper Hospital in Detroit about lap band.  I am 52 and have had lots of tests so far to see if I qualify for the surgery.  I am real scared.  After a scope test , the Dr. said I have a large hernia which he will fix while doing lap band.  Has anyone else had this same situation and if so, how are you doing. Welcome!    You live really close to me, maybe we can get together sometime.  I didn't have lap band or hernia, just wanted to let you know that being scared is very normal.   We've all been there. Linda

Thanks for responding Linda.  I have been checking on and off to see if anyone was out there!!  I kinda felt left out.   Guess I just gotta keep connected and putting in my two cents and eventually I won't be the new kid on the block any more.  Right now I am in self imposed hibernation.  It's almost like I don't want to be seen until this is over.  I am just that sick of being fat.  Been fat all my life and now I am so anxious to be on the road to seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.  This morning I was surfing around this site and saw a woman who was complaining of a tool being left inside her.  I surfed around some more and found out it somehow involved this Dr. Webber guy.  Turns out he and Dr. Nunn used to work together?  That's what I got out of it anyway.  Now I'm freaking about that possibility.  Maybe I shouldn't be so curious.

Hey, I just read your blog.  That is so neat that you have a diary of the whole process.  Sounds like life is good for you.  I just started seeing Dr. Maxwell last week.  Did first part of sleep study on Tuesday.  Go back on the 19th for second half.  I want to make a blog, too.  How do I do it?

You know what?    I have no idea!    After obesity help changed to the new format i haven't written anything.    I'll try this afternoon when i have more time and let you know.   Shame on everyone for not welcoming you!    This board usually isn't like that.  Probably everyone is busy with back to school and everything.     I'll pm you later. Dorree, No need to be sorry at all!  Most of the people on here are not computer literate.. LOL This is the Michigan forum, for any kind of weight loss, even if it doesn't  involve surgery.  Feel free to ask away.  There are not a lot of banders on here (I'm not one, either) but there are a few. In the future, I'd post in both forums, that way you are sure to get your question answered. Feel free to post anything here, and we'll answer if we know it.  And don't feel bad when no one responds and all you hear are crickets....chirp...chirp....it happens to all of us at one time or another.
