For the last few weeks I have been extremely exhausted and tired, and I'm not sure why.  I am almost two years out and have gained some of my weight back. I know I need to up my protein and water, but how do I get around the tiredness??

Have you had your labs checked recently?  If not it would not hurt to have them checked.  Have you been taking all your vitamins and supplements?   Being low on some of these things can cause exhaustion and tiredness.    I know I am not that far out yet but I don't think things change that much from the beginning we will mal absorb for life and should stay on top of our lab values. Good Luck and I hope you feel better real soon.

Step One: Get back on the boards!!! Seriously, go to the Grad board, there we post our daily bread (no pun intended). It helps a lot just to see what you've eatten and to be accountable.  Step Two: Get you labs drawn. Iron comes to mine. When my iron was low I was one whipped puppy!!! There are a lot of vitamin levels that would make you tired, so best to get them all checked.  Step Three: You already said it, up the protein and water. I've been taking in 100 grams per day on my protein for over a year now (well, the goal is 100 I hit between 90 - 105). I do drink at least one protein drink per day - cuz I can't eat enough protein without it. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do! BIG HUGS to you today!!!

It sounds like that you might have low iron that made me really tired when I was border line anemic.  Have your labs drawn and checked to make sure your levels are ok.  Plus increase your B12.  Tricia

Hi there,    I totally agree with Carolyn about have you had your labs checked lately?? And are you taking your vitamins religiously??? I recently got into serious problems with vitamin deficencies; felt extremely tired, no energy, dizzy spells, and more. Then I found out I was very vitamin deficent B-1 in particular, B-12, D, and calcium. B-1 deficeny is extremely serious; lack of it can cause permenant nevre damage, heart failure, triedness and lack of engery. B-1 converts our food into fuel for the body! It can also impead weight loss! Please look into these factors; as well as yes up your protein and water! Go back to the basics! Hope some of this helps; best of luck, Judy R
