Anyone have there surgery at Harper Hospital in Detroit?

I am looking at going there since it is only $11700 and that also has 1yr of fills. Just was hoping some had something good to say about them?

Who is doing your surgery? I'm not going to tell my experience at harper since it wasn't pleasant. But i was the normal wls patient. Linda

I just talked to someone today. I still would need financing and such. My insurance doesn't cover it at all and I will have to self pay.

i had mine at harper in june, and i had a wonderful experience. they have a floor just for wls patients, the nurses were very good to me and came as soon as i called for anything, and i had a great private room. hope your experience will be just as good. Dr. Wood did my surgery, and he is the head of bariatric surgery there, but they treat them all the same. \

I had my surgery at Harper & Dr. Woods was my surgeon, last Oct. and I had no problems with anything or anyone. In fact my room was like a suite. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. My stay was 3 days. I had nor have any negetive feelings with Harper Hospital.

Hi, I also had my Lapband 4/23/07 @ Harper. Positive experience, but didn't stay overnite. Was able to go home same day. Dr Nunn was my surgeon--very professional. Have been back for 3 fills & I have no complaints. Luckily, my insurance still pays, but we know down the road, it might not be so easy to qualify. I am afraid it will soon be considered "cosmetic", cause its becoming so popular. But I am so happy with my results..Love my band & it is helping me loose the weight that I haven't been able to in 20 yrs !! Good luck.. Pam-busdriver

I am so glad to hear of someone who had Dr. Nunn. I am in the process of getting all the pre-tests so I can get a surgery date. So far I've seen the shrink, the heart doctor, had a scope, part one of a sleep study, blood work, had a filter put in. Doctor says I have a large hernia which he will fix when he does lap band. Anybody have any experience with having both at once? Doris

Dr. Wood did my RNY at Harper Hospital in May 2006. I had a very pleasant experience at Harper, no complaints at all. I was so impressed with the large private room, that was just great. Karen
