Newbie

Hey all- I am new to this site- and about 11 days post-op!  I can't believe I never found this site pre-op! :( Just wanted to introduce myself and say how excited I am that a site like this exists! I am very excited about the road in front of me, and all the hopes I have for my future, and being a part of this community!  -B

Hi there, I'm a newby too!!  I have got a lot of info. here. I am having surgery on 9/18 and i am getting a little nervous!!  How did your surgery go?  How have you felt the past few days?  I only took 2 weeks off work and I'm a little worried about that too!!  (Hopefully that will be enough)!!                                                                                                         TIZ

This is a great place to come when you have questions, but never forget it does not take the place of your doctors advice or guidance.  You have a new exciting life ahead of you and this board will help you through many bumps when you need it... Thank you all so much for your kind words! My surgery went spectacularly well- really much easier than I anticipated, and I've been tolerating food/water/vitamins so well that I actually got to move to pureed foods on day 8 which was really cool since I was getting a little sick of pudding and yogurt! :) Really, though, at 10 days out I almost feel back to 100% already. It's pretty amazing! I am so excited for this journey- I know it will be filled with challenges, but I also know it will be so worth it for a healthy future! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you too!  Thanks again! -B

Don't you just love Dr. Krause?  He is wonder, and does such a great job.  His staff and the WLS at Beaumont are excellent. Glad to hear your surgery went so smooth!  Having an easy recovery just adds to the benefits of having RNY. This forum has been great and the folks here are so understanding to the newbies even if they've heard the question 50 times before. Hugs.
