Scheduled today! Now what do I expect?

I got my surgery scheduled today!! Everything has gone so fast. 2 weeks after my last appointment with Dr Foote I got my approval from my insurance Priority Health HMO and a week after that I am scheduled for surgery!! I am very bless that everything went so well this time.. ( I was denyed before with another insurance ) and now I'm wondering about how others were for the first few days after surgery.. and what to expect. I'm getting the Vertical Sleeve.. my first stage to eventually the DS.

Expect everything and anything. You'll get lots of advice and lots of objections. You'll hear horror stories and success stories and you will have to weigh what is and what isn't relevant. It's a wild party. kp

expect to be gentle with yourself, patient and willing to follow the advice of the professionals whose hands you've placed your life.  Expect to love yourself, expect to be pleased, proud, frustrated, confused, surprised and ecstatic.  Expect to find people here who are going to offer you support, knowledge, judgement and falsehoods.  expect to take what you need and leave what you don't.  expect to live a new life full of hope and opportunity.  buckle your seatbelt cause you're in for one heck of a ride. 

Expect 9/26/07 to be the start of a great new life for you.  Remember there will be plateaus after a few weeks but they're  normal (just ask us and we'll be glad to tell you), expect that you'll have to buy a new wardrobe 3 or 4 times before you start to slow down on the weight loss (Goodwill was my best friend for clothes), expect that you need to train your brain to know that this is how it will be for the rest of your life, not just until you hit goal. You are in very good hands with Dr. Foote.  I am very glad he did my surgery and I am so thankful he has given me a chance at a wonderful new life.
