I'm officially a short timer

The city commission approved the early retirement last night so now I can put my paperwork in to the MERS retirement system.  My last day of work for the city is October 31.  We'll be leaving Big Rapids Nov. 1st and head to Sun City.  Depending on how crazy the four dogs drive me, we should be at our new house by Nov. 5th at the latest.  I start my new job on Nov. 15th.  My cat will be flying in with a co-worker.  I used frequent flyer miles for them and the only flights I could get were first class.  I never get to fly first class but my cat does, figure that one out. Here's a virtual tour of my new home in Sun City, AZ.  I'll be thinking about you all when you're shoveling snow this winter. http://www.visualtour.com:80/applets/flashviewer/viewer.asp? t=1150707&sk=30&dm=kenmeaderealty.com

Congrats on all of your changes Ann!  You and Larry get plenty of use out of that big jacuzzi tub! Maybe we'll show up for a pool party!   Glad everything worked out for you!

The house is adorable,I love the bathroom! I noticed when I looked at the pool a wire running over the pool,I hope that isn't an electrical wire! We had to go with under ground wireing because the only place we could put the pool was under the wireing.

No wiring above the pool, it's all underground.  It might have been the angle of the picture.  The electric wires are all on the neighbors property.  I will love getting off work and hopping into the pool though.  One nice thing, it's dry out there unlike here right now.  My poor bones are protesting big time.

I'm in the UP,we haven't had any rain to speak of all summer. My grass is so dry I feel sorry for it!We're soppose to get rain today but they have been saying that all summer.I read that you had a face lift, did you have any problems with that?I know my insurence wont cover it but I can self pay if it isn't to expensive.I don't need a TT  but a facelift would be nice,I'm 61 years old and thats the only place it's beginning to show.

Gussie, I was a self pay too for the facelift.  It was $7,943 with Dr. Leppink at the Centre for Plastic Surgery in Grand Rapids.  I do need the other tucks but they don't bother me as much as the hanging skin in my chin did.  I am so happy I had it done.  The doctor took 3 inches off the chin, re-molded the fat in where my cheeks where it needed to be and then pulled the skin to the ears.  You can't hardly see where the stitches are because they are right by & behind the ears.  I do have a small incision under my chin where he went in and tightened the muscles but it's in a place where you can hardly see it.  I also was lucky enough not to have much bruising at all (didn't have the eyes done).   BTW, you are welcome to our rain.  I've had enough of it and would love to send it up to the UP.  I have too much stuff to do to get the house ready for sale that I don't have time to keep cutting the grass and the hedges now that they're all extremely well watered.

Hi Ann, Your new house is beautiful, and congrats to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you and Larry. Jon and I have been busy with our new house. Lots of painting to do. That is why I have been lying low lately. Jon had surgery on his rotater cuff 3 weeks ago and is doing ok. Dr.said he will at some point have to have a shoulder replacement. I heard you say in Detroit that the nut at MMPC told you about the carb, fat , calorie ratio. Can you explain it to me again please, I don't remember how it went.

Phyllis, the NUT says that if you stay under 1200 calories, have less than 30 grams of fat that the carbs will be in line (unless you do chips, pretzels and other junk).  I do have fat free chips (Pringles) but not very many but it does seem to satisfy that salt craving.  I do also take it into account during my daily food log.  I'm still losing.  Boy did that surprise me that after a month, I was down on the scale again.  I'm now down 140.   I can't wait to get moved.  There's a lot to do out there but we'll have the rest of our lives to get it done.  My house here is for sale.  I had someone interested but she doesn't know if she can get the financing.  I'm hoping she can because she'd be right next door to her parents and I know they'd love that.
