Hi everyone,               I got my surgery date yesterday.  It will be Sept. 18th.  I am trying to get all my supplies together !!  I would like to order some powered protein mix.  I have checked the matrix brand that has 23 grams of protein and 100 calories per serving and also the Nectar brand that has 23 grams of protein and 120 calories per serving?  Do they all have this many calories??????? I could use any suggestions on different brands.                                                                                  Thank You

Which Nectar brand are you looking at??  I'm drinking the Tealicious Natural and it says 90 calories with 23 grams of protein.  I'm ticked because Syntrax is discontinuing it.  The Lemon Tea is pretty good. Good luck on your surgery.  I will be two years out on September 15th.

Any Whey unflavored whey protein has 17 grams per scoop and 70 calories per scoop.  This is all I use in my coffee in the morning and mid afternoon. Remember the powdered protein mixes, if flavored usually go with milk, which will also add calories. Check www.vitalady.com for protein samples in a ton of different flavors.  I didn't look at calories when doing my protein, I monitored my protein grams.  www.gnc.com has numerous whey proteins - some are in samples, some not. I wasn't fond of the Nectar products due to it's sweetness.  Word of caution, don't get alot of protein now.  What you like pre op, you may not like post op.  Many people have indicated that on this board.   Have a few samples to try but don't taste them until after surgery. Nature's best clear isolate whey in the bottles at GNC has 40 gms protein and I'm not sure calories but they are quite palatable to me and I am fond of Icy Orange. They are in glass bottles and run about 3.50 a bottle.  If you purchase products often at GNC, get a membership so the first 7 days of the month you can save 20 percent on your purchases.  Unjury also is unflavored.  www.unjury.com is the site, although I am not aware of it's taste or calories.  I believe they have unflavored and some flavored wheys. Many people here like that also. Good luck! Stacey W
