Sherry, I found at the start that the only one that noticed the weight loss was my husband.  It took a while longer for everyone else because they're so used to seeing the "old" you.

Sherry, don't feel bad, I just went back to work and I've lost 47 lbs.  All anyone says is your face is so skinny!  I guess I've lost 47 pounds on my face.  Ha. It's all about how you feel about yourself.  You know your clothes are too big, You know that you feel better, You know you are losing weight.  That's all that counts.  I find because I am so heavy, it takes a lot of weight for people to notice I've lost weight. It's actually possible that they are trying to be polite and not say anything.  I lost 50 lbs and the only people who commented were the people who knew I had the surgery.  I'm using people at my kid's school as an example...someone finally did mention it and said, "weight is always a touchy subject so I wasn't sure if I should ask or comment."  Or if they do know you had surgery, it could be they just don't agree and don't want to say anything.  Does that make sense??  I'm willing to bet with the next 10 lbs or so, people will start noticing more.  Congrats on your amazing success!!

No one really noticed at first with me...cause I was still wearing all the same clothes....and they were too big to begin with. I didn't like tight fitting clothes. Now I am wearing tailored shirts and 2 sizes smaller...now they notice!!  Keep up the good work....glad you are feeling better

Sherry, I'm willing to bet the people who don't seem to notice your loss are folks that see you daily or at least regularly.  Wait until you see someone who hasn't seen you in awhile.  It's a WOW moment for sure.  My stepson had his surgery on March 1, and moved in with us shortly after.  We notice his weight loss because he works out of state and is gone for up to 3 weeks at a time.  He is smaller and smaller every time we see him.  His highest weight before surgery was 561 lbs.  He is at 350 lbs. at just 5 months out.  It is amazing to watch him morph before our eyes!  His biggest WOW moment so far was being able to get on a regular bathroom scale, and to buy underwear at Wal-Mart instead of the Big&Tall. Keep up the good work and don't be discouraged.  A year from now you will look completely different. KathyG
