Very Concerned
I am very glad I had this procedure done. I am following it to the 'T". In fact I feel like I'm always eating out of a measuring cup. Am getting all my protein in each day and fluids. Also doing about a mile a day of walking. That's all I'm up to at this point. I'm 4 weeks out.
This is my concern.
I've lost 30 lbs since coming home, but since July 25 I've only lost 4 lbs. Each day I get on the scale and it's the same weight.
What am I doing wrong?
What can I do to make this move along. I though with this surgery, weight came off easier.
I'm so disgusted. Only good thing about being disgusted is with this surgery there is nothing I can do to screw it up at this point.
Please help with your experiences,

Do not be concerned, you are normal. We are basically cavemen. Or think of yourself as a bear. When they go into hibernation, they do not eat, and yet they do not starve to death, because their body has learned that they do this once in a while. Well, without making a very long story, your body is trying to figure what is going on, and is not sure if you are going to feed it enough, so it begins to hold on toeverything at about this time in your journey. Keep eating, when the body realizes that you are going to feed it, it will let go, and you will begin losing again. Do not count your transformation only by pounds. Measure it by your energy level, how your clothes are fittiing and how you are feeling in general. If you are following the rules you can only be successul. Keep walking and change up your activitiy once in a while. Exercise is the key!!!! As well as healthy eating habits. You are in the hibernation mode, do not worry. Hope this helps. Good Luck Carol
Hey there Friend,
As you have already heard you are in the norm! Four weeks out you are bound to hit a small stall; your body is still adjusting. Your body is still trying to figure out what it going on. I have hit a lot of stall's and plateau's. It will come off; stick to what you are doing? Congrats on how well you are already doing! I am a scale watcher too..LOL.. Good luck continue on. Hugs, Judy R
Hey Judy,
I know you know what you're talking about. I've seen your posts many times. I guess we all need a liitle boost and reassurance once in awhile. I should stay off the scale I know that. I am not giving up....in all my anger this morning I still jumped on the tredmil....it's too hot here to walk outside. Guess I'm having one of those feel sorry days. Celebrated my hubby's birthday and couldn't eat what the family was eating, having a block party today and not eating what they are eating, having a work picnic....not eating what they are eating.....jeeeesh look at me.
I will be ok....I guess this is the first socialization I have done since the surgery and I'm trying to deal with it.
I am so glad there are friends out there like you who are willing to listen to my whining...ha!
Patti with hugs back at ya.

Hey Pooch,
yeah sweetie, LOOK AT YOU! It's ok to have some pity parties once in awhile but - LOOK AT YOU- at how you are going to look in just a few short months!
You're right, it has been too hot here, since we are neighbors I commiserate wit ya.
You're gonna do just fine, I'll be right next door to do it with ya soon. Just remember that next year, everyone's gonna be LOOKIN AT YOU at the block parties, work parties , etc. Won't that feel good?

You lose a percentage of your excess weight. MY boy Terry lost 4 lbs a day the first week. he started at 700 lbs. towards the end he was losing 3 lbs a week as he neared 300 lbs.
It's like interest - you pay up front.
Drink a glass of water and take a walk. Fart a little too - it makes for interesting neighborly relationships.
Stay off the scale.

"Go sell crazy somewhere else; we're all stocked up here."
KP KP!
I can always depend on you to respond with great info and make me smile at the same time. If I mail a fart in an envelope, would it pay my car payment this month?
At least at the block party today, I could blame it on someone else.......blowing in the wind!
Your information makes sense....off the scales for me. Yeah right.
Thanks.....Patti
