Hi Sherry,
I wondered how you were doing!
If I were you, I'd add some low fat cheese with the crackers for your snack. That doesn't sound like a lot to me if you're looking at portions. Make sure you're still getting in your fluids and vitamins. At this stage you need to start listening to your pouch and getting on "regular" food, meaning you'll eat when you're hungry and make good choices. This is the time to set yourself up for a long life of eating like a thin person. Eat when you're hungry, snack smartly, and you'll be fine.
When I was 3 months post-op I had 50 pounds gone. So you are doing just fine in that respect. My advice is to try to not compare your weight loss rates with others. People lose at different rates and trying to compare to others is only going to make you crazy. I should know because I used to do it.
As far as what you are eating, eh, it's not terrible, but it could be a little better. In my opinion coffee with protein in it is not really the best choice for breakfast. Now, if that's your breakfast one or two days a week, I think it's perfectly fine. You should maybe eat an egg, some oatmeal, or maybe some cottage cheese with fruit.
I would be careful on the fast food restaurant salads. Generally, with dressing (unless you used a fat free dressing) the salad has more fat and calories than a plain burger. My suggestion if you are going to order a salad from Wendy's is to nix the bacon and supplement with a small amount of grilled chicken for your protein. Always get the low fat or fat free dressing.
I try to stay away from hamburgers, but that's just my personal preference. There is nothing wrong with eating that every once in a blue moon.
I wish I could tell you what I was eating 3-4 months post-op, but it wasn't the right things to be eating. I was so sick that I had to eat what I could keep down. So I was living on orange juice, oyster crackers, dry cheerios, and tuna fish. It was a terrible way to eat and I DO NOT recommend that to anyone. I did what I had to do to keep myself from getting a feeding tube.
Just take your eating at one day at a time. Don't stress about it too much. (I know easier said than done)
Why not ask your NUT what you should be eating?
We all have different rules and guidelines and what you may be able to eat, someone else can't.
What I dont see is accountability for water, protein and that doesn't sound like you are eating every 2-3 hours which you should be. Our bodies need that to help the metabolism work so we do loose the weight.
Ask your NUT about how many calories you should be taking in and I agree, avoid the fast food. You didn't have this surgery to end up at Wendy's and eating subway. (lots of sodium and carbs there!)
I would also keep a journal of what I eat on a daily basis and when you do talk to your NUT you can show them what you are eating.
Good luck!
