having such a hard time eating at work
I knew this was going to happen. I just don't have the desire to eat, and it's so hot out I don't want to eat. Don't really like chees sticks, and have been trying to eat cottage cheese, but then i get home and am sooooo tired, i don't want to eat, OR EXERCISE. I was so good with the exercising while i was off, but going back to work is kicking my butt. I know it's bad, but I don't think i've eaten more than 1000 calories in the last three days. I'm going to have a protein drink tonight, as i'm not even getting enough of that in. I don't want to go back to old habits, and not eat, and then eat the wrong things. i was thinking of boiling some eggs, as they are easy to take and eat, but dont' want to eat to many. The bad thing is that I am out on the road all day, so i can't warm things up or anything, (although the floor of the truck gets as hot as an oven lol) what are some suggestions for easy to take things, but not alot of cheese that i could take to work Please help with suggestions. thanks so much

Being out on the road has to be difficult for you to follow rules but it can be done.
Try a lemony protein drink with ice instead of a milky protein shake that in hot weather can make you feel blah.
how about turkey deli meat, rolled up, with a bit of ff ranch dressing to dip them in?
could also use low fat ham and some swiss and do the same thing- roll em up
I hate jello but in a cooler and on a hot summer day- it's satisfying to me
and then there is sf pudding- with a few graham crackers and peanut butter, you have a nice treat!
also there are low carb yogurt, add some fresh fruit to that, there's some protein too.
i can understand cheese sticks. you have to find one you like. go for the part skim, low fat colby/cheddar and swiss swirls if you can find them. take along a few crackers if you want also.
some single pack nuts, grahams and peanut butter, and how about some low sugar fruit cups (check labels for sugars) and a piece of fresh fruit, some protein bars are always a must- get a good flavored kind, one you'd enjoy, and how about a nice thermos filled with ice water?
don't know how that sounds but it may help.....let me know if you need more ideas!
Good luck!

thanks for the suggestions, i actually did go get some low sugar fruit and some protein bars today, and as for the water, let me tell you that's noooo problem. probably drank about 100 oz. today so far,("and only peed once) i sweated it all out. the fresh fruit is the only think i want in this heat. my sister suggested the fruity type of protein drink, so i'm going to try some of that since the only thing i want to do is drink. hopefully it will get better soon.

Stacey,
You always offer people alot of good suggestions on this board. I've gotten alot of good ideas for "later" from reading your posts. My surgery date is August 22!!
When you talk about the lemony protein drink - how do you make that - just not use any milk?
Unflavored protein with crystal light? Help me out please.
Thanks for the great ideas
Cindy :)

Hi thanks, I just try to speak from experience and my heart.
Syntrax nectar has a lemonaid drink, available at Barix and other vitamin stores.
Might try to google it you can get it online also.
Unflavored- Any Whey or Unjury with Crystal Light- too sweet for me but do-able.
Use a shaker to mix it up and drink it relatively soon after mixing.
I do not use unflavored protein in cold drinks. only coffee. for some reason, it doesnt taste as good. but everyone has to try things and rule them out.
www.vitalady.com also offers samples you can try of lemonade and ice tea protein drinks.
Thanks---Sw

I know how you feel, i am a driver and i have to take my cooler. i usually take a 2 ltr water jug and my protein jug, i make a salad every day using shaved deli turkey, lettuce, boiled egg , mini-croutons and whatever else i throw in. i also take my protein bar, jello, or applesauce, fruit so if i get delayed anywhere i have something to eat and i drink all day.
I vary my snacks so i am basically on my pouch schedule .
i keep my cooler bag on the passenger seat to keep it cool and when the sun shines on that side i keep a small blanket on top of it to keep it cooler.
While i am at my stops i usually walk around their parking lot to keep my legs moving.I have a dumbbell with me so i can at least exercise my arms i know its pretty darn hot out this week, lucky i start my route at 7 am so my first walk is about 8am i decided to walk around a couple times on the first trip this week, i found out that i drink more when its hotter,
I hope this helps ya and don't give up !
