Hello all you fabulous people! It's time for another gathering of the Bay City Support Group and we're meeting at my house in Saginaw.  Mark your calendar for Wednesday, August 8th at 6:30 p.m.  Everyone is welcome no matter where you live. For directions send me a PM or an email at [email protected].   Hopefully this heat will break and we'll have some pleasant weather so we can meet outside (bring a lawn chair), otherwise we'll be in the air conditioned comfort of my living room.  FOOD: I'll be making some grilled chicken and put together a tossed salad.  Please let us know what you'll bring to add to the buffet.  DISCUSSION: As we talked about at our last meeting, it looks like I'm in charge of leading this month's discussion.  So come prepared to talk about: "Struggles you've faced during WLS and what keeps you motivated." Can't wait to see ya'll!  Who's coming? Pam

Hey Pam,  I am excited to come to this next meeting!!! It will be nice to be on the recieving end of info and discussions. It sounds like a great topic. I am looking forward to seeing you and everyone else.  I am not sure yet what I will bring to eat, probably some type of veggie dish. Maybe broccoli salad or something. Not sure yet. See you soon. Toni: I was inspired by an article I read in WLS Lifestyles for the topic of discussion.  I know you get that subscription too, so it might look familiar.  And true to form... there will be homework.  I've sent you directions to my house too, but I'm sure you and Ali will be coming from the back way. Let me know if you need altered directions coming from your neck of the woods. Pam

Hi Pam! Thanks for hosting the meeting!  It's been a looooonnnnggg time since I've attended a Bay City Support Group meeting, but always loved to come.  It's just so expensive to drive down these days with the gas prices what they are, but as it turns out, I am going downstate to my daughters that night anyway, so am thinking of stopping in at the meeting on my way down.  God knows I need the support!  She lives in Grand Rapids though, but thought maybe I would cut over after the meeting.  Anyway, could you please send me directions?  Not positive yet if I will make it, but I'm going to try.  I'll be coming down I-75 from the Houghton Lake Area.  If I come, I will definitely bring something for the buffet.

Again, thanks for hosting it! Hugs, Theresa

Theresa: I'm so glad you'll be able to come!  I'm looking forward to meeting you.   Directions are on the way.  But for anyone who's wondering, my house is super easy to find and I'm just 3 miles off I-75 just south of the Zilwaukee Bridge.   Pam

I really miss you too Toni  That is one of the reasons I'd like to come!  As you know, I've been struggling horribly with this weight gain and am pretty embarrassed about it, but hey, that's what support groups are for, right?  And that's exactly what I need right now....support.  I'm actually going down to my daughter's in Grand Rapids to have my second round of sclerotherapy on my stoma...that's on Thursday morning...so I am going down Wed. night, to be down there for the early morning appt.  I'm praying it helps me.  So....I hope I can make it to the meeting.  It's going to depend on how soon I can leave town.   On another funny note about the gas thing....too bad we can't harness the gas that comes out of us WLS patients and use it in our vehicles!!! With all of that, we could all take private jets everywhere we wanted to go!

Gas prices?!  UGH!  Have pity on me as I drive about 150 miles a day for my commute. I go through gas like it's water! But I found a way to save about 15-cents per gallon by using Speedway gift cards.  I was so thrilled when I discovered this that I even wrote an article about it.  Check it out if you want: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/269467/how_to_save_ money_on_every_gallon_of.html 15-cents might not seem like much, but when you spend $400+ per month on gas, every penny counts!  :o) Pam
