Hernia post op
I have a question for you's that had hernias post op. I went in the hospital last weekend for stomach and bellybutton painsthey had me for 4 days and come to find out I had a straingulated (sp?) umbillical hernia. So they did a repair. I am so terrified to bust something open or to undo what they did. I have this big lump like a tennis ball that popped out of me this weekend. Which I am seeing my doc for tomorrow. I was just curious how many ppl got them after bypass, like a few years after. Did you continue to get them again after the repair too? This just scares me cuz I wasn't really familiar with hernias. Not even sure how I got it,
Any comments on this woud be great!!
Hugs, Lauri
Lauri, I just had my umbilical hernia repaired with my tummy tuck 3 weeks ago. I have always known that I had the hernia, as I believe it was more related to childbearing than WLS, but it is a good thing I had it repaired because it had intestine and all bulging through. The repair is not guarantee that you will not get another hernia, but the odds of getting one in the same place is not likely secondary to being stronger from the repair. Good luck on your recovery, and I am looking forward to hearing about the tennis ball lump that popped out. Carol
