This morning I downed a protein chocolate shake with skim milk...and added some extra protein powder.  I barely got it down....I am so tired of them.  I heard about Isopure.  It's on my list for proteins to drink.  I saw it at GNC.  Anyone have any idea where I might be able to buy it cheaper.  And what flavors are good....just looking for some suggestions. Thanks to you all. Patti

Patty,  Just buy one bottle to see if you like it - I bought several thinking that I would love them - but thought they were horrible!  I had to give them away at my support group, there are some people who love them or mix them with crystal light.  But, I couldnt get past the smell of them, even if I held my nose I couldnt get it down because it was very thick... ugh!  So, anyway, I would suggest that you try one before making the investment!

If you definately like liquid protein vs. bar - the Beaumont Weight Control center in Royal Oak also sells protein "juices" and hot chocolate with no smell to them.  They are about $1 each, 80 cal. and have 15 gr. protein!

Rebecca, I forgot about the protein juices!  I'll be going to the doctor's near the WLS and will pick up some.  I am still at the puree stage and cannot eat the bars yet......I am just struggling with the smell and taste of HMR protein. Also, I will do a taste test on the Isopure.  I have one in my fridge. Thanks for all your help. Patti

I buy the Isopure vanilla power in the big 3 lb. canister.  I mix it with milk, no****er.  Then I add in any one of the DaVinci sugar-free flavored syrups -  raspberry, mint choc, caramel So the vanilla powder gives me more "bang for my buck" when I can change the flavor with SF syrup If you have a credit card, I'd shop around the internet rather than go to GNC - it's way more expensive there (like $20 more !)  I think I got my last can at bariatric eating.com Happy sipping - gwen

I bought some Isopure in Pinapple Orange, Alpine Punch, and Blue Rasberry, I mixed them with crushed iced like a Slurpee and they weren't bad.  I think all protein leaves a filmy taste in your mouth and these do to, but tolerable.  I bought them at GNC as well.  If you shop there the 1st 7 days of the month, you get a discount. i think isopure has a particularly weird milky taste to them... before surgery i didnt mind it so muhc, but now i can't stand it... in fact, right now i have a case of the isopure ready to drink and i can't wait until i can never look at them again. lol. I was going to try Pro-Stat, which i heard tastes awful, but is 15 g of protein per ounce...

Pro-Stat IS Horrible.  I finally found a use for the bottles I have left (I got one of each flavor).  I use it when I bake  bran muffins to give them extra protein.  You can't tell it is there then when you bake with it. .  It actually makes it so I don't feel guilty eating the muffins.  They now are sugar free, full of fiber, and have protein. Hugs, Lori

i cant drink those translucent bottle isopure drinks but i buy their zero carb protein powder and it's great.  and a great value.  i only use one scoop at a time with 4 ounces of water and that's 25grams of protein with zero carbs right there.  sometimes i mix it with coffee.
