A couple of more questions
Hii its me again,
I have my surgery in just over a week and Hurley told me to be there at 5:30 am. Do they tell everyone to be there that early? I am wondering if I am scheduled for an early surgery or am I going to be waiting like everyone else.
One more question. I am having an open RNY which I wish I could have avoided but I have had previous surgeries and yada yada yada... So, is the incision so long that I will be uncomfortable to wear pants home from the hospital? (I know that these aren't really important questions but it will be one less thing for me, the worry wart, to worry about.)
thank you all,
Susan
I didn't have surgery at hurley. But it is my understanding that if you're there that early you probably are scheduled first thing.
I had a nightgown (looked like a sundress ) that i wore home from the hospital and was very comfortable in it. I did have loose sweat capris with me but didn't even use em. make sure your undergarments are loose also and take a pillow with you for the ride home.
I hope everything comes out the way you want it

Hi, I am also having surgery at Hurley on the 21st of Aug.and like you I am having open RNY. Congrats! From the packet I received when I attended the nut class we are supposed to be at the hospital 2 1/2 hours before surgery to have the necessary testing and to have a IV fluids set up.
I cannot tell you what exactly you will be able to wear, but I have had 3 previous surgeries in the belly area and was able to go home with loose fitting pants.
Wishing you a smooth surgery and recovery, I will be praying for you on your day!
Lynn

I had surgery at Hurley, granted it was two years ago. However, I had to be there around 5AM, but my surgery was scheduled at 7:30 AM, the first surgery of the day. From my experience, I was scheduled a specific sugery time, which I was told.
I had LAP RNY, as opposed to open, and wore very loose fitting pants to the hospital, so I could wear the same pants home. I know how you feel though. I'm a worry wart, too. And one less thing to worry about is great!
Good luck and speedy recovery with your surgery. Tina
