detroit surgery

Hi I am from New York State and have been on the internet looking for a surgeon for the Lap Band and found the doctors in Detroit: Laker, Webber, Grazayerli (?) and Weiner. they do the lapband and will do it at a dicounted price> Has anyone delt with this group? I will appreciate all feedback. Thanks

Hello... My surgeon is Dr. Laker and I love him. I was recently in the hospital for something else and he was right there when he heard....made me cry cause he is very caring. Took over my care and got his team of doctors involved for a second opinion.  I had RNY surgery though.  I have heard good things about Webber too.  Best of Luck!! Danielle

All right with Gazayerli..............i started with him he wanted me to give him a $2000.00 cash up front payment to cover "his expenses" now i had already jumping through a bunch of hoops for insurance and being desperately overweight i begged him and i do mean tearfully begged him because i  didnt have the additional payment above and beyond insurance he just looked at me and shrugged his shoulders............well i went and found someone else and ended up going with the bypass anyway but i was rather upset that he would have such a cavlier attitude to someone who had several comorbidities and was so desperate to change their life health and ways, a friend of mine had him and she loved him and he asked her for none of that BUT what can i say i dont think i would send anyone to him. hugz and good luck to you kat

If you are talking about Dr. John Webber at Harper Hospital (MOSS), he is phenomenal.  He did my surgery three years ago and I can't say enough good things about him!  He was fantastic, and has a great bedside manner.  Called me from home to check up on me when I had an issue, dealt with the ER people at St. Joe's in Ann Arbor to have me transferred back to Harper when St. Joe's thought I had developed a hematoma, went above and beyond every step of the way.  He is the best!
