Plastic Surgery on the 25th

Dr. Leppink is doing my facelift.  He's as excited about doing it as I am to have it done.  Most people go for the tummy tuck first but this turkey waddle just bothered the heck out of me and I've said ever since I started losing that this would be the first to go. The bad stuff - I was taken off my arthritis meds and could only take Tylenol Arthritis.  This stuff did absolutely nothing.  I was to the point where I couldn't hold a phone for more than a minute or I'd have to pry my fingers from around it.  It hurt to sit, walk, stand and especially sleep.  I saw Dr. Leppink for my pre-op yesterday and told him of the extreme pain (darn MI weather).  He said he could give me a script for Celebrex.  I told him the bariatric surgeon wouldn't let me have it because of ulcers.  He said there was nothing else I could take.  I left there and went to MMPC to pick up some ready to drink protein shakes, soy crisps and veggie spaghetti for when I can't chew after the surgery.  I mentioned to the girl at the desk about the pain.  She went and checked with the PA and came back and said no Celebrex.  I said that's ok, just everyone around me is going to be as miserable as me because I'm in so much pain.  She said to wait a minute and went and got the PA.  They decided that if I would take Cytotec 4 times a day along with Prevacid that I could have the Celebrex for one month only.  Yahoo!  I got my script and within 2 hours of taking the Celebrex, the pain level was at a manageable 4 and has gone down since.  YAHOO!!!! I also will not be able to exercise for the first week except to walk around the house.  I have to sleep at a 30 degree incline to take the pressure off my muscles.  After the first week, I'll be able to walk to the corner.  It'll be about 4 - 6 weeks before I can get back to exercising like I'm used to.  This will be the hardest thing for me because I'm used to getting out of bed and hitting my home gym, riding my bike and walking.  I do have 3 books that are waiting for me to read so that will help while Larry's sitting on me holding me down, lol. I'm really looking forward to this and looking like a new woman.

Wow, i never realized the recovery for a face lift was so hard.  I understand what you mean about the turkey neck, i'm the same way.   I'm glad you got the meds you so needed.   Good luck with your surgery. Linda
