Hello fellow bari-buddies...I am going to make a long story short-I was told that I really needed to get my iron pill down(crushed up of course)however the taste of them makes me nausious so I cut the pill into 1/4sections and I took a very small piece...and my pouch started growling and I begain to have cramps and contactions I threw up.  I thought that I was going to meet my maker.

Why don't you do the liquid iron? Personally I hate taking pills and even though it is gross, I managed to do the liquid iron as long as I plugged my nose. Dawn

What kind of iron was it?  Was it Ferrous sulfate.  That gives me horrible intestinal and stomach cramps. Try another kind. Jeanne

Your post caught my eye.  My surgery date is a few days after you and I have been swallowing my iron whole for a week now.  I am very happy I haven't had issues. Good luck to you! Lynn

I was confused by the 5 gr vs. 325 mg. on different bottles so I asked the Pharmacist at Meijer.  He recommend one he had behind the counter but not a prescription.  It's Rugby - Natural Iron Supplement Ferrous Sulfate.  They are very small, and I swallow them without any problem.   They are also very small. Hope this helps! Lynn
