tt with no insurance
i know its early to think about having a tt but come april i won't have a job and insurance.
will be laid off, but i need to have medical insurance, cobra will be too expensive.
are there any soloutions out there ? at this point i am getting worried, i will only be able to see dr until end of march to have blood work done and any urget procedures.
if any one can put on their thinking caps and figure out how and where i can get medical insurance i will be very grateful !!!
I don't know much about this insurance stuff but I do know that our car insurance company offers a reasonable health insurance to our families. We have Farm Bureau so I am not sure if its the same for others but its something you can check into. Our FB offers BCBS and from what I have heard their plan is pretty good. I can look into it more by asking my friend that uses it if you'd like. Not sure if you have to have FB or not. So let me know. GOOD LUCK. ~~Rona
Rebecca have you discussed the issue of only being able to see your surgeon until March? It is VITAL you get bloodwork done every three months for the first year and follow up with your surgeon! I am just wondering if maybe the office can set up payment plan on office visits or something so you can be sure to get the proper follow up care. I know you said you will be laid off, but will you still get unemployment? There is always Medicaid you can apply for....worse thing they can tell you is no!
Best of luck to you!
Jennifer
You live in Wayne county, and they do have a county health program that is very reasonable. I believe it is called 4 star health, or something like that. You can call
2-1-1 from any touch tone phone (except cell) and they would be able to give you that information on who to contact. It would not cover your tummy tuck, but it would pretect you from catastrophic illness, outpatient visits and lab work. Is your employer offering any job counseling to help find another position after you have been laid off? If not, you can register with "Michigan Works", they offer stuff to assist. If you have children under 18, you can get MIChild for them at least. Hope any of this helps. Carol
Thx everyone, I was not aware of county health ins, I'll check into it
