I really need your help! I just started taking a multi chewable by County Life - ?- I think...anyway, Ive had a TERRIBLE time with hair loss and more - hair breakage. I used to have long hair that is now about an inch long on the top of my head. My nails and skin....yuck, I think I look like Ive aged about 15 years over the past 9 months and its been a killer on my self esteem. I didnt realize how important vitamins are - Ive learned my lesson and am now taking 1500 of calcium and 2 chewable multi, and 1 pepcid, and 2 Biotin a day. Advice, input anything would be really helpful to me. THANKS< Kathryn 342/218/170

There's a few companies who specifically make hair, nail and skin formulas... I know nature's plus has one and so does futurebiotics and new chapter... evitamins.com has good prices and as a bonus, they ship from michigan, so things usually arrive pretty quickly...

So you're not drinking your protein? Have you talked to marty about all of this? I told you this would happen. First of all, don't waste your money on the hair nails and skin crap.....there's hardly any biotin in them anyway.. If you want biotin go to vitamin shoppe and get their brand, the high dose of 5mg not the mcg. Load your body with protein . I also used a protein based shampoo . I did all this at the same time so i'm not sure which it was that worked, but i'm betting on the protein.....Even if it stops it can happen again, so keep doing what works. Have you had your blood work done lately? You need to check that out and see what you're low on. As for multi's , i take the vitamin shoppe brand chelated vitamins called mega-vites 75, they aren't chewable though and taste nasty, but they give me more energy than anything i've tried and are only $13 dollars for a two month supply. Now go get your protein and get started, you're gonna be bald if you don't! Hugs Linda

I was using the Country Life, switched to various tablets, just started chewables again (just one a day)with Trader Joes High Potency Chewables. Smaller and tastier than the CL ones, too soon to say what they will do to my blood work. Calcium citrate, right? And broken up into three servings a day? I do 1000 mcg of Biotin twice a day, nails improved drastically as they grew out. Hair loss has stopped at just over seven months out, I don't know if the Biotin helped but it certainly didn't hurt, especially since it is water soluble. My skin is better than it has been for years, but the chins have turned into ugly pleats. I don't think vitamins will help there, lol.

Hi Kathryn, At the recommendation of my surgeon I take Centrum Complete Chewables. They're not available in the U.S. but I have some friends in Canada who bring them to me when I need them. I also take Hair Skin and Nails Formula from G.N.C. (2500mcg biotin) I highly recommend these. My hair was falling out by the handful until I started taking this. Now my hair has come back nicely. I have found my nails are becoming much stronger, now if I would stop chewing them lol. Hope this helps. God bless you, Annette

I take two chewable pre-natal vitamins a day. They are prescribed by my PCP. I've been taking them since before I had surgery. My insurance pays for them, so that's a plus.

I take Opti-Source chewable multi-vites by Resource. They are specifically for bariatric patients and are available through walgreens.com...$24.99, free shipping. They're orange flavored and you take 4/day...so you get 120 in a bottle. I also take GNC Calcium Citrate, Biotin and an iron supplement because I've been prone to anemia. I've been taking them for 18 mos. and they've worked really well for me. Good luck! Lizzie B
