I needs to know! What Iron supplements are you kids taking. I'm feeling a little run down. All the other levels are ok but I don't take an iron supplement and I probably should. kp

I'm told the liquid iron supplements absorb better, but I've been sitting pretty with my opti-source chewable multi-vites plus 1 65mg enteric coated tablet I get at my pharmacy. Lizzie B

I alternate, a week of Ferrous Bis-glycinate ( Gentle Iron, Iron glycinate, Rexall brand $3.96 for 90, 28 mg capsules at Walmart). This also contains 60 mg of Vitamin C, 400 mcg of folic acid and 8 mcg of B-12. and a week of carbonyl iron 25 mg from Trader Joes $1.99. I supplement that with a Vitamin C tablet, 500 mg, also from Trader Joes. I've been told to take the iron with C but not with any of my regular supplements because they work at cross purposes. My three month bloodwork was low in iron, it's been moving up steadily since I started supplementing. I also use it as an excuse to eat more steak. And sometimes liver and onions but I actually like the stuff. But I gotta say, stuffing a B-12 under my tongue always ups my energy. Once a week seems to do it.

Kevin, I take GNC's FE Chel...... It's supposed to be chelated. I was taking SlowFE before the surgery. I like to keep my Ferritin up above 100 because I have severe RLS. My levels have been good since the surgery. Jeanne
