WTH is wrong with me? I have gained almost 10 lbs ! I can barely fit into my jeans. I know I am under alot of stress but who isn't ? I have to atleast do whatever I can to get this 10lbs off before my surgery. I'm so embarassed. I don't want the dr to think I figured, ahhh hell since i'm having the surgery I might as well gain, because thats not what I am thinking ! Anyone else gain before surgery? Btw I still have no date, waiting on the fun tube down the throat procedure to be done then I will get a date ! WOO HOO

I cannot believe I am going to admit this, but it's the honest truth. A few days before my surgery I ate myself sick, literally. I went to my favorite restaurant and I kept eating and eating. (think Big Night if you have ever seen that movie) I ate to the point where I passed out on the toilet. Yes that's right, passed right out from overeating. I gained over 10 pounds before surgery.

People gain before surgery. I went through the "Last Supper" phase and ate like a wild woman. It's not a good thing to do but it happens. Stop beating yourself up. It will be ok. Best Wishes! Stacey B

Thanks Stacey ! I know I shouldn't beat myself up but I do. I hate being so overweight and I hate the thought of going through all this, to gain it back again. Yes I do feel relieved that I am not the only one thats for sure. But I also know that my eating habits stink and I better do something to change them LOL ~~Rona

Hi Rona, I'm not going to sugar coat this and tell you its okay, cause it's not. The good thing is that you know you've got a problem and you admitted to it. Now it's time to get healthy for an easier recovery. Knock it off with the junk food, start walking and eating healthy. High protein, low carb and lots of water will do the trick. Honestly the more you lose now means a better outcome as to what you lose post op. You need to get healthy, bottom line. Let me know if there's anything i can do to help you. Hugs Linda

I'm glad you all are being straight up honest ! Thats what I need. I know what I have been doing is wrong. I want my recovery to be an easy one and not have any complications during or after surgery. You are absolutely right Linda, being healthy is the bottom line. Eating this crap now isn't going to make anything easier and if anything it will probably cause me to have a relapse down the road and gain my weight back which I do NOT want to happen. So I am taking your advice ! Low carb, high protein, WATER WATER WATER..... since you offered, do you mind if I ask you questions regarding the protein? Do you think I should start now with atleast one, two or more a day protein shakes and/or bars? Or do you think I should wait and get my protein in with meats, eggs, etc. ? I appreciate any advice ! THANK YOU ! ~~Rona

Rona i'm glad you didn't take my post in the wrong way. everyone was letting you know it was normal and okay to do, but the truth is, you're only hurting yourself. Go ahead and start drinking protein, but you might not like the same brands post op. Drinking it will help to keep you fuller longer i think, and the less food going in your mouth right now is best. I know you are going to mourn your food loss post op, and probably think you'll never eat this stuff again, but the truth is, you can have almost everything again (just not much at one time) after you heal. I always try to be straight up honest with ppl, if you need a kick in the a$$ , i'm the one to do it! Now , get the junk food out of the house and don't buy anymore. It won't hurt your family to eat healthy too, they need to support you. If you need to email me everyday to tell me what you're eating, do it! Have you tried any proteins yet? Get busy, your day will be here before you know it. Hugs Linda

Don't be surprised if you see an email from me every 10 min LOL just kidding. But thank you for the offer, I may take you up on it. I am glad the others admitted that they have done it to and to be honest it made me feel a little better. I am sure everyone that has done it knew it was wrong too but for some reason they do it anyways, regret it later. I think it also stems with bad eating habit they've (atleast I know I have really bad eating habits) had all or most of our lives. I want to change things so desperately. I haven't started any protein shakes. I have heard that your taste buds change and I don't have a date yet so I figured it would be way to premature to buy or stock up. What are some that I should try? Atleast to get me through the next couple weeks? Thanks again for all your help. Greatly Appreciated. ~~Rona
