OT: 2 visitors came by today......

Sorry to be "OT" today so much.....but I had 2 really great visitors come by my place today that is sharing worthy. First, a little brown bird, was on my bird feeder. I opened the sliding glass door (not noticing the little birdie) and it looked at me in a most unusual way. I reached gently towards it, and held out my finger, and proceeded to touch the chest of the bird, and he glared on and appreciated the attention. I then took my finger and moved to it's head and stroked it's head a couple times. I then brought my finger back inside so gently and let the bird continue to eat....looked to my right and OH MY GOODNESS................... a really LARGE BIRD...................looking closer, a HAWK!!!! White chest, reddish tail, and perched on the maple tree right outside my patio --- I got several shots of it on my digital cam which, of course, is at home --so I'll post the pics tomorrow. But that was pretty darn cool. Two birds, ever so close -one let me touch it, the other let me take photos without moving........then they both flew away. Guess it's winter at its best today. and then the hawk ate the little brown bird!

Actually, I let my attack cat Lizzie out, and she ate them both. the Hawk flew away, to a house nearby, and the little brown bird flew into the cedar tree next to my patio. I think they are all safe now. Let's hope. Kitty cannot get them, she's indoor cat. (yay) Stacey W
