Does anyone use Hurley Health and Fitness Daycare?
Hi!
i wanted to join the hurley health and fitness center.. but it's 65 bucks a month! i'm livin off of disability buti have some unemployment saved up and i'd like to build up some muscle before my surgery.. and start feeling better so i want to work out, plus i'd actually like to not lie to my dr when i tell him i've been working out.. but it says you have to call two hours in advance to make sure there's room for your kid at the daycare and it only holds 15 kids. that kinda seems like there'd be a slim chance i could get in! does anyone go there and use the daycare?
Sarah,
I don't have any info on the health center, but I'll tell you what I did pre/post op:
I have Comcast cable, and if you do, check out "On Demand", the health and fitness section. There are several workouts on there so you can switch it up. Or, get tapes from the library. I did them after my kids went to bed. If the music is lame, mute the TV and put on your own music.
Also, I invested $50 in the Core Secrets DVD (got it at Dick's Sporting goods) and did it every other night, also when the kids went to bed. I started this program after surgery when my doc cleared me to do it and it is amazing. All of the sudden, you'll have a waist!! And it's low impact and sort of fun.
Anyway, if you can't get to the gym, these are some alternatives.
Good Luck!
