LOVENOUX

Yep....an injectable blood thinner. Obese people have a higher risk of forming blood clots due to inactivity and sluggish circulation. That risk is multiplied by simply having surgery. I was already on Plavix and Aspirin pre-op, but had to go off them both for 10 days before surgery so I wouldn't have bleeding problems during surgery. I figure the surgeon was just making sure none of my stents(I have 5 of them now) in my heart got blocked by post-op clots. I didn't suffer any long term problems from the 30 day course of Lovenox, and I am back on the Plavix and Aspirin for the rest of my life.
