LOVENOUX
KP's right. Get used to the chill. It's something that all of us have post-op. We actually discussed it at our support meeting. Sometimes I feel like I am frozen to the bone. It all gets better though. As far as the Lovenox....I only had that for the 2 days I was in the hospital. My surgeon's research shows that there is no difference if you have it for 2 days or 14 days! Thank Goodness for that because I could never give myself a shot!

What's wrong with you? Of course they're right! Everyone knows that teenagers know everything. Wait until they're 20 that's when they'll admit that they didn't know it all when they were teens, 'cause they know it all now. By the time they hit 27 they know they didn't know it all when they were teens, or when they were 20. It's amazing at 27 they actually say they still don't know it all and never will. At least that's the way it went with mine. Alas, who am I to say anything? I'm just stupid and don't know anything, just ask my 18 and 19 year olds. they'll tell tell you 'cause they know everything!
God bless,
Annette
I had to be on the Lovenox for 30 days, plus the 2 days I was in the hospital. I thought 30 days was a bit extreme because everything I read about it said you should not be on it for more than 14 days, and the longest a patient was on it during clinical trials was 17 days. That patient was very medically challenged though. The only challenges I had was my coronary artery disease so I figure the doc was just being very cautious, weighing the risks against the benefits of being on it for a month post-op. I made it through and the only side effect I had was the little bruises all over my tummy from the needle. Oh, and the chills...I was cold all the time. You will do fine.
