I know you weren't suggesting I am a terrorist. I am actually pretty knowledgeable in this area. I dated a very nice gentleman who was from Yemen. He worked at the LaShish for a short stint and that's where I found the Shish Tawook. It's good and that's all I'm saying. Stacey b

well all i'm saying is to please consider that our government is claiming that your money spent at LaShish is funding a major terrorist group. It's something to consider. I figured you didn't know, i didn't know about your ex boyfriend being Yemenite so i figured if you were spending money at LaShi**** was because you hadn't heard the news.

Interesting. It's a good thing there is no La Shish for me to eat at in Traverse then huh.

Stacey i love arabic food. Go to Dearborn , you'll find tons you like. My favorites are shawarma (both lamb or chicken) and the shish kafta. It's all very nutricous. Hugs Linda

have you ever seen Moroccan Cigars or Cigarim at any of these places? I used to eat them all the time when i lived in Israel but i can't find them at any of the middle eastern places around here. It's filo dough filled with spicy meat and it's rolled up in the shape of a small cigar and it's served with hot sauce for dipping. I used to get them in the falafel/schwarma/kabob places or in some of the bars there. I'm dying to go to Deerborn for dinner. One day we'll make it. Meanwhile we've found a couple of good places locally, Anita's Kitchen and Lebanon Grill. And one real stinker, Beirut Palace.

I've never heard of nor seen it before. I have no idea if any of them have it, but Dearborn is filled with all types of middle eastern food, so i'm sure you could find it if you tried. Linda

Filo dough spiced meat cigars dipped in hot sauce????? Skip the middle man. Dip a french fry in franks original red hot sauce and stick it in your arse!!!!!! Same effect, less work and no calories!!!! kp

spicy foods don't have that effect on me. since WLS i eat even spicier. more flavor/less calories. the only problem i'd have with cigarim is the filo due to the carbs. Frank's sucks. I dip my glycerin suppositories in habenero sauce.
