CORI Centers gone?

I've heard a rumor that CORI Centers is shutting down. They are thru MSO Medical. Does anyone know about this and is it true? I'm a patient there and all of their web sites are down. If it is true, what to gastric bypass patients then do for follow ups? Can they go to other bariatric centers and be part of that center?

Ok I heard it right from the horses mouth......CORI is NOT gone or going under!!! They are no longer part of MSO medical. All patients will be getting a letter in the mail regarding what is going on with them right now. All surgeries and appointments are going on as scheduled. Keep your eye on your mailbox for more detailed information Jennifer

I also called and got an answer. I was told that they are not closing, they are moving to the area of 12 Mile and Ryan.

Maybe they dropped Mostly Screwed Over (MSO) and they're going to get their act together. I'm not holding my breath, though. Even if it flops any patient can pick up with another bariatric surgeon. kp

So if they left Cori and they have a new office which sounds great where are they going to do surgery now ???

My guess is they still have privileges at DMC. I think Taylor is still part of Riverview too. Keep your eye peeled for posts on it. I'm sure a plant,,,,, er ,,, a ,,,, patient of theirs will keep us posted. Dr. Wood used to operate out of BiCounty I believe and at Garden City. That isn't going to be a problem if they are doing what is being said. I should make an appointment!!! I am after all, a CORI patient. kp

I'm sure that they are still operating at Harper. The DMC is not going to lose paying customers. As for the link that Kevin posted, on the MSO contract. Remember that the person doing the program, Dr. Arthur Porter was fired from the DMC for stealing money from them.

I just tried to find anything on that. Where did you find that info. Was it before or after his paper on bariatric surgery and DMC? I'd like to read that. Can you send me that link? kp
