YEEEEEEEOUCH!!!!

I am here at home lying in my bed under doctor's orders! I have a splint on my right arm, my right leg and have a walker to use to get around as I can't stand up straight and it hurts to move. You might ask how I ended up in this position ... well let me tell you I was having an extreme amount of fun right up until it happened! The kids are still off school and we decided it was the right time to try out all those ice skates we got for Christmas so off we went to Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo for the public skate yesterday. We were all having a lot of fun skating around and I was teaching Steven how to skate. Remember he has cerebral palsey and has never skated before in his life but he was seeing how much fun the girls were having so he wanted to join in on the fun. He was doing marvelously well with the aid of this metal bar thing that you push around on the ice in front of you so that you won't fall and he decided that he was a big enough boy that he didn't need it so he pushed it away (right into my path) and bada boom bada zing down I went. I was laughing at how silly I must have looked taking that tumble on the ice and hubby and Liz came to help me get up and make sure I was okay. I felt like I was fine & brushed myself off and even though I was a little sore, I continued to skate for another 1/2 hour. Came home, made dinner & just had a relaxing rest of the evening. Well, this morning when I got up, My right wrist was extremely swollen and bruised, I couldn't put any weight on my right leg & my back was killing me! So off we went to the ER. I have a hairline fracture on my right wrist and on monday I get to see an othopedic surgeon for my right knee and my back! So now I am lying here in bed with all of these splints and pain and wondering when I will be able to go skatin again LOL! So say some prayers for me and well wishes that all goes well on Monday! Tracy i'm glad you have a sense of humor about all this. Did you get some good pain meds? It must suck being stuck in bed, I hope it goes by fast for you. Hugs Linda

Tracy, Oh my, I hope that the pain settles down quickly. What a way to bring in the new year. Take care of yourself and hope that your back will stop hurting soon. that pain away. Will say a prayer for a very quick recovery and good news from the doctor. Take care, stay safe. Brenda
